Architects also carried out their household survey and analysis by visiting the various homes, sketching, documenting and understanding their history, living conditions, space management, housing techniques, drainage systems and growth and gave inputs on sustainable measures that the dwellers can cumulatively take to opt for better living conditions.Camp2- On 20th April’ 2025, our team comprising of Ar. As an architect, Samruddhi (founder, Levellers Foundation) understands the aftermath of strenuous construction works and the importance of it being taken care of.Realising this, and teaming up with Dr. Chandan Banwade, Dr. Gayatri Kursunge and Anjali Sonawane of CureDiab, we at Levellers Foundation set up our second pain management medical camp in the core area of the slum settlement from 8-10 AM. We, the architects at Levellers also collaborated with Shri. Nitin Meshram from Yuva (Youth for unity and voluntary action) organisation to mentor construction workers on various welfare schemes such as PMAY-G, Ramai Awas (Gharkul) with their application processes’ and benefits. A total of 19 schemes are available for construction workers but there is lack of awareness said Shri. Nitin Meshram from Yuva, due to which initiatives like Salamati by Levellers Foundation should be conducted to spread the necessary awareness. They were also informed about land use and land rights. Ar. Samruddhi Chaphale stressed on the importance of slum certification of the settlement for the purpose of implementing programs to improve their living conditions.
In the end, the smiles and relief on the faces of beneficiaries instilled a sense of hope, satisfaction, and motivation to continue working in the sphere of social architecture and to do our bit for the society.
